ORIENTATE

There are three 'Norths':
Magnetic North, Grid North and True North.

Magnetic North is the point on the surface of the Northern Hemisphere at which the Earth’s magnetic field points vertically downwards. This is not the same as the Geographic North Pole. In fact the North Magnetic Pole gradually moves over time.

Grid North is a navigational term referring to the direction northwards along the grid lines of a map projection.

True North is the direction along the earth’s surface towards the geographic North Pole. The direction of True North is marked in the skies by the north celestial pole.

For clients to help orientate themselves they should seek out their True North and then use this fixed mark to guide them as they develop their future strategy.
